Could you be our next leader? Do you want to make a difference and change the lives of young people across Leicestershire? Then this might just be the role for you…

Oakfield Short Stay Primary is a 30 place SEMH Pupil Referral Unit for Leicestershire providing assessment and short stay provision for pupils who have been excluded from their mainstream settings. Oakfield also provides school to school support via our outreach team of talented inclusion teachers for all primary schools across Leicestershire in addition to specific SEMH and Team Teach training for schools.

Due the redeployment of our substantive Headteacher within the Local Authority we are now seeking a new Headteacher to build on our successes so far and lead us on our journey of school improvement. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, passionate and resilient leader to enable our vision in becoming a centre of excellence for pupils with SEMH across Leicestershire.

We have recently relocated to two new fantastic provisions within the North and South of the county, Shepshed and Earl Shilton, and currently have capacity to support 15 pupils at each site. This is an exciting time to be a part of our future and lead a highly skilled, committed and talented team as we embark on our journey to outstanding.

We are looking for someone who has a excellent knowledge of pupils with SEMH and the national curriculum, has substantive teaching experience with pupils of SEMH, very high expectations and ambitions for our pupils and someone who is reflective, leads by example and is not afraid of challenging themselves and others!

Our pupils are looking for someone who is:

Kind, thoughtful, makes learning fun, listens, is available, cares, helps them, smiles, provides challenge, understand me as me, makes me laugh.

Visits to our school are encouraged and warmly welcomed. Please contact Jane Hall or Rachel Page-Win on Tel: 0116 275 9150 or email: jane.hall@leics.gov.uk to arrange a visit.

For an informal chat about this role please contact Alison Bradley Head of Service for Education, Quality and Inclusion on 0116 305 8825.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment and all appointments will be subject to appropriate vetting, including an enhanced DBS disclosure check and two suitable references.
