Children and Family, Children's social care in Leicestershire County Council is now 3 years into The Road to Excellence, continuous improvement plan that is driving the development and the delivery of strong and effective services for its most vulnerable residents. We have a strong and committed Senior Leadership team that is both passionate and ambitious for children, young people and families. We are currently looking for a passionate and determined Head of Safeguarding Improvement and Assurance to join the team, with significant experience of operating successfully and effectively in complex social care environment.
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Children's Social Care, the post is responsible to lead the Safeguarding unit, Performance and Quality Assurance activity and is responsible for the IRO service and Corporate Parenting team. The post is key in the new Safeguarding arrangements as part of the Safeguarding Partnership. Candidates will need to be a qualified social worker (registered with HCPC), as well as the ability to work closely with staff and partner agencies at all levels to deliver high quality services. Hence, we are looking for candidates with passion to deliver high quality, child focused services, evidence of a strong performance management approach and a proven track record of developing excellent evidence-based safeguarding practice that has a real impact for children, young people and families.
The postholder will need to work closely with service users, elected Members, senior officers and our many partners and stakeholders, in order to drive lead services.
