The starting salary is £19,171 (Level One) rising to £19,945(Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers)

This role will lead, direct and motivate team/s of gardeners acting as mentor to the horticultural apprentices as well as ensuring effective day to day on-site working using planning, programming and monitoring techniques working in accordance with the Council's policies and procedures, including the Health, Safety and Welfare Policy with particular emphasis on increasing quality, the public's perception of safety and encouraging visitor, community use and enjoyment of Parks.

SSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
• Experience of staff supervision and team leadership to achieve high quality standards and meet deadlines
• Experience of horticulture and gardens, techniques such as chemical spraying and other essential garden maintenance  
• Supervisory / staff management qualification or equivalent experience
• First Aid at Work certificate
• A valid driver's licence is essential
