Finance is one of the key resources that impacts on activities and policies within the Council. Strategic Finance must ensure that a framework of financial administration is provided for the efficient and effective control of financial resources. 
     
These posts will work within the Finance Operations Team, with responsibility to support Budget Managers in planning and controlling financial resources to enable monitoring and timely administration relating to funded support to ensuring accurate payments.  To assist the finance team with the financial procedures and the processing of information relating to the finalisation of service user Non-Residential and Residential accounts.
   
• To prepare and submit the finalised accounts to Service Users or their Personal Representatives for Residential and Non-Residential Services
• To action requests for refunds and chase up any uncompleted refunds/queries
• Maintaining accounting, financial and service user case records and administering financial processes
• To maintain consistency, integrity and alignment of Service User records on Oracle Fusion to ensure invoices are accurate
• To assist with the resolution of queries that have been generated from various internal and external sources
• To deal with incoming telephone calls in a professional manner to deliver excellent customer service and take ownership of queries
• To actively monitor the collection of Service User assessed contributions to ensure that they are being paid in line with the Direct Payment Agreement
• To undertake reconciliations of finance information from various sources, e.g. A&C LAS, Oracle Fusion, PFS Payment Card Portal
• To action requests from authorised officers to set up, amend and/or cancel a Direct Payment Card
• To assist in the completion of Financial Reviews for monitoring
• To undertake the Finalisation and reconciliation of Direct Payment accounts.
    
This post provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience and understanding of Local Government Finance by being a member of the Corporate Resources Finance Team, working with a diverse set of key stakeholders and partners across all levels.
