Finance is one of the key resources that impacts on almost all activities and policies of the Council. Strategic Finance has to ensure that advice is given on the financial context to be applied in drawing up strategic plans and service delviery proposals.  It also has to ensure that a framework of financial admistration is provided for the efficient and effective control of financial resources.
             
Within this overall context, Finance Support Assistants will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Finance Service Function in carrying out their responsibilities
- Maintaining accounting and financial records and administering financial processes
- Maintaining appropriate relationships with other Service Areas and External Agencies/Partners/Providers to promote the interests of the council and the Finance Service Function
- Gathering financial data from a variety of sources
- Using Spreadsheets to compile data
             
The postholder will have to deal with a wide variety of circumstances and issues. This needs to be recognised as an integral part of the job.  
             
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
• Experience of working with a computerised financial system
• Experience of dealing with queries and correspondence
• Commuicating clearly and accurately
