Leicestershire County Council is looking to appoint a Finance Operations Co-ordinator, supporting the Finance Operations Manager, and in partnership with Disabled Children’s service and Adult Social Care, to deliver and enhance our ‘payments and collections’ finance function. 
   
This role will manage a large progressive and diverse team, who will work in a fast paced and modern finance environment to enable the collection of £56m of social care income for 6000 Service Users, and £160m of expenditure per annum with 500 Providers. Effectively developing and integrating staff, technology and robust processes, we focus on our customers’ financial needs to drive our performance and we take pride in delivering a quality service.  
          
The role will also be required to effectively monitor contractor performance, and a particular area of interest in 2020 will be to strengthen our adult social care debt collection service following our newly awarded ‘open’ debt collection contract. 
 
We are looking for someone who achieves and inspires. You will have substantial experience of delivering an effective financial service through the management of a vibrant team; strong in change and performance management; customer-focused; measured and motivated to develop the services within and on behalf of the authority with partner agencies, such as Health.
  
This is a full-time and permanent post at grade 12.
            
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Delivering a positive financial service through the management of a large team, including performance management, supervision and appraisal experience
  • Working well with change, seeking out improvement opportunities, evaluating risks with thorough consideration of operations to make effective informed decisions 

  • Working in cross functional teams, and developing effective working relationships with senior and operational managers within the service area, other finance professionals, and stakeholders 

  • Managing with a flexible and creative approach, demonstrating a persistence and resourcefulness to get the job done
