Current Salary Rates - LCC First year of apprenticeship - any age £6.15 per hour
After the 1st year:
Ages 25 and over £8.21 per hour
Ages 21 to 24 £7.70 per hour
Ages 20 and under £6.15 per hour

About the job
Leicestershire County Council is looking to recruit a Finance Apprentice to join their Finance Department. The successful candidate will take on various duties within the Finance department whilst attending college to complete their Apprenticeship. It is intended that the successful candidate would undertake the 'Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship' standard which is a level 3 qualification, the current entry level for an accounting apprenticeship.                                The successful post-holder will provide support across the Finance function depending on need. This could include supporting either:
• The Financial Analysis & Information Team (FAIT) supporting services with financial planning, budget setting, financial monitoring and forecasting; and the year-end closure of accounts.
• The Finance Business Partner Teams in helping provide strategic advice to departments on a range of issues including growth and savings.
• The Technical Accounting Team (TAT) supporting the co-ordination of the production of the Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS), annual statutory accounts, the Council's banking requirements and taxation compliance.
      
Some of the key specific tasks and duties are likely to include:
• Customer query and resolution
• Production of scheduled & ad-hoc reports & information
• Entering and Maintaining Financial Information
• Supporting Manager Self-service
