The ideal post holder will be a qualified accountant, comfortable with switching between high level strategic overview and detail.  You will need to gain quickly a thorough understanding of the departmental service pressures and develop good working relationships with budget holders and senior managers to ensure sound budgetary control is maintained within the Department.  The job will also involve using highly developed analytical skills to support the development of business cases for service change initiatives to improve service delivery, increase efficiency and help to deliver the savings required to deliver the MTFS.

Confident and effective communication skills will also be key to ensure technical information is conveyed in a non-technical way to senior managers and service users.
