JOB PURPOSE
To support the work of Children in Care Service incorporating our Care Leaver Services (some with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking and Refugee Young People)
     
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Relevant paid or unpaid experience of working with young people within a Social Care setting or similar
  • Experience of behavioural work children/young people and their carers
  • Knowledge of Child Development 
  • Knowledge of Home Safety issues
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding children issues 
  • To have organisational and planning skills 
  • Ability to work creatively
  • Knowledge of basic child behavioural techniques 
  • Ability to communicate clearly with children, young people, parents and other professionals 
  • Ability to work with a range of professionals and engage in multi-disciplined work 
  • To have good time management skills 
  • To understand and apply County Councils Equal Opportunity Policy 
  • To have relevant experience in using It including Microsoft Work/Excel 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately and in writing with a wide range of people 
  • To have good Attendance - evidence of regular attendance at work 
  • Ability to travel to service points within Leicestershire County Council in a cost-efficient way
  • To hold a driving licence with access to a vehicle however reasonable adjustment will be considered for an applicant with a disability 
  • An understanding of and commitment to, Equal Opportunities and the ability to apply this to strategic work and day-to-day situations 
  • Availability to work outside normal office hours including possible early mornings evenings and weekend
