The City of Nottingham is renowned for its entertainment and world class sporting offer.  Our year-round programme of sports, arts and cultural events is a core part of this mix which makes Nottingham such a vibrant and attractive city to live, work, visit and invest. Attracting annual audiences to our events of over 2.5m, Nottingham Events produces much of this diverse arts and event programming, including the Splendour music festival, annual Riverside Festival, international sports events such as the Accenture World Triathlon Mixed Relay and the famous Nottingham Goose Fair. 
  
We also work extensively with external promoters who make use of our fantastic city centre public realm and park venues. Nottingham City Council is looking to appoint a passionate, experienced and dynamic individual to lead the development of our commercial events. 
   
You will be a part of a small agile team that conceptualise, develop, facilitate and manage a high quality, innovative, inclusive and aspirational city-wide programme of year-round events. 
  
As Event Manager you will be responsible for the successful delivery of a number of major events each year as well as working in partnership with external promoters to deliver client and venue management services across our parks, open spaces and beyond. You will play a key role in meeting our income targets by developing our existing event brands whilst seeking and developing new commercial propositions for our venues.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
• Significant proven experience of major event planning, delivery and management, ideally gained within the outdoor events, festival or entertainment industries.
• Experience of working in commercially focussed event roles that included income generation through F&B, retail, venue hire, ticket sales or similar.
• An event management qualification and/or significant relevant work experience within the events industry.
