ENGINEER - STRUCTURES  Salary Details: Grade 11 (£32,094 to £34,653pa).
     
An exciting role has become available for a bridge engineer within the busy Structures team who manage over 700 highway bridges and other highway-related assets across the county.
  
Job Purpose:
The post holder will play a key part in the structural design, construction, maintenance, strengthening and general management of the highways structures and other civil engineering projects.
    
Activities will include:
Assist with the design, analysis, assessment, maintenance and strengtheing of highways structures to ensure that they meet current standards and maintains structural intergrity.
Adopt asset management principles as part of the project delivery, including lifecycle planning and whole life costing as part of the estimating.
Assist with the preparation of all documents required to achieve Technical Approval for works relevant to highway structures.
Assist with providing a structural design service to various Departments within the County Council, complying with current standards and whole life costing principles and liasing with client groups.
Assist the Senior Engineer in the management of project teams, to ensure the effective and efficient provision of appropriate customer focused, high quality service in accordance with County Council policies, Government and legislative requirement.
