Leicestershire County Council are looking for a self-motivated and driven individual to undertake eligibility assessments for the County's Blue Badge Scheme. The role is predominantly targeted at providing face-to-face assessments although some telephone/desk-based assessments will also be required.

Until recently the Blue Badge Scheme catered only for those who had physical difficulties with walking (amongst some automatically eligible criteria). On the 30th of August new legislation came into force which meant that the Blue Badge Scheme would now consider those with 'non-visible' disabilities i.e. it now includes some people with neurological or psychological difficulties. If applying for the role you should bear this in mind and tailor your responses to cover the full breadth of the scheme.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification e.g. Diploma of the College of Occupational Therapists OR A Registered Nurse, with/without a Diploma or Degree in Nursing Studies.
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council and responsibility for maintaining registration, or equivalent, e.g. NMC
  • Full Driving Licence & access to a vehicle to use on council business.

See Job Description/Person Specification for other associated & essential experience, knowledge & competencies which are attached further down on this page.
