• To advise and support parents and professionals in meeting the special educational needs of early years children (birth to reception age) of children diagnosed with autism
• To provide advise, support and guidance to private, voluntary independent providers in order to support the special educational needs of children and children with autism and develop appropriate initiatives in order to meet their needs
• To implement strategies to enable providers to embed the principles of the SEND code of practice into their practice
• To support schools during the reception year offering advise, guidance and assisting order to reduce exclusions
• Promote the Early Help programme and work closely with the local authority designated officers for the safeguarding team as directed
• To disseminate key safeguarding messages and information to providers and other stakeholders    

• Qualified Teacher status
• Experience of working with early years SEND children and families
• Experience of working with other agencies to support children with SEND
• Experience of outstanding early years improvement processes
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of the early years SEND code of practice
• A working knowledge of the EYFS and it's key principles and objectives
• An understanding of data analysis and its uses
• To have good communication skills both orally and written
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and professional partnerships
• To be assertive, confident and sensitive to the needs of others
• To be able to cope under pressure
• To self organise and meet deadlines
• To have a commitment to education and lifelong learning
• A flexible approach to working including out of hours and an ability and willingness to travel to various locations
• An understanding and commitment to Equality and Diversity and the ability to apply this in to strategic work and day-to-day situations
• Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment, where appropriate in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010
