Forest Way Special School is seeking applications for a dynamic, creative and resourceful Deputy Headteacher to join our team from August 2021. This vacancy has arisen because the current post holder has secured a promotion.

The Post:
• Deputy Headteacher L17 – L21
The School:
• An all through mixed area special school, aged 4-19 for pupils with a range of needs including pmld, sld, mld and Autism.
• Includes a Communication and Interaction Unit, ‘The Den’ for primary aged pupils and a link at Charnwood College, Maplewell Hall for Post 16 pupils.
• 244 pupils on roll
• Modern, purpose built school with pool, sensory rooms, modular classrooms and adjacent bungalow for Post 16.
• Currently lead school for Forest Way Teaching School Alliance

The successful candidate will be committed to ensuring that all our children achieve their potential. You will work collaboratively with parents and other professionals to ensure that a holistic approach is adopted and pupil outcomes are as high as they can be.
We want to appoint an inspirational school leader who will ensure that the highest quality teaching and learning occurs at every opportunity both in the classroom and more widely.
You will expect outstanding standards in all areas of the school. You will bring creativity and innovation to developing a curriculum that meets individual needs.
You will take a lead role in partnership working across our Forest Way Alliance schools and collaborating with the newly designated Teaching School Hub for Leicestershire.
As a member of the school leadership team you will be adaptable and resilient with excellent communication skills.
