An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Working Age Adult Disability team based at the Hinckley Hub in Hinckley for an experienced Community Enablement Worker. We are an established friendly team supporting people who are 18 – 65 years old with complex disabilities including learning disabilities, physical disabilities and ASD.
As a Community Enablement Worker, you will be required to provide enablement support to maximise people's independence to deliver agreed, goal-focused outcomes. You will need to have a passion for promoting people's independence, choice and quality of life by providing short-term support to help people regain skills and confidence enabling people to do as much as they can, for themselves.
You will aim to support people following a period of illness, disability or loss of self-confidence. The service is also designed to support service users to remain living safely in their own homes in the community.
You will work under supervision to deliver a high quality, person-centred, accountable, statutory social care service, ensuring that adults age 18 -65yrs, their families and carers; are able to find their own solutions; assess, manage and review their own needs and risks to maximise their own independence and self-directed responses to deliver agreed outcomes.
You will work closely with social workers, community support workers and occupational therapists to ensure each adult has the best chance to access community opportunities including: adult learning, paid employment and/or volunteering.
You will need to be able to work with minimum supervision and be able to use your initiative when faced with challenging situations.
Main Duties involve: 
• Working in a person-centred way to plan with individuals and the key people in their lives.  To assess their independence needs and identify the goals and outcomes to be achieved.
• Direct work with service users, their families, carers and working alongside other agencies.
• Working with individuals to explore a range of community options which may include access to employment, voluntary opportunities, recreational/social pursuits, community activities and cultural or spiritual activities.
• Enabling individuals to promote independence and support with agreed goal delivery in a range of area’s which may include supporting the person in a variety of community settings.  
• Relevant health/social care qualifications to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and / or equivalent relevant experience
• Relevant experience (paid employment, training or voluntary sector) working with adults with mental health conditions in a social care setting.
• Experience of working with other agencies
• Experience of prioritising, working to timescales and working in a consistent way
• Experience of administrative procedures including the use of computers

The post holder will be based at the Hinckley Hub, however due to the nature of the role you must have the ability to travel to other areas within the locality area.
We currently have 1 part time permanent position of 18.5 hours per week.
