JOB PURPOSE
• To act as the first point of contact for Children's Social and Early Help Service users, by phone, email, web or post
• To work with a range of internal and external agencies to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people and referral to services to achieve the best outcomes for the child
• Provide the best quality service for all First Response Children's Duty Service users, main professional standards and responding to queries appropriately
      
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• NVQ2 In Customer Services or equivalent relevant qualification or relevant customer facing environment
• Must have experience of communicating with children and young people and their families and professional from different agencies
• Must have experience of working in stressful environments and within teams
• Must have experience of handling sensitive information and accurate recording
• Must have an understanding of children and their families and their needs including services available
• Must be able to analyse and interpret information
• Must be able to handle sensitive and distressing information
• Must be able to work under own initiative
• Must be able to maintain a professional demeanour
• Must be computer literate and be an able typist
• An understanding and commitment to Equal opportunities and the ability to apply this in all situations
• Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment, where appropriate in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010
