Leicestershire County Council is looking to recruit one full time equivalent Charging Operative at its Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS). Successful candidates are likely to be polite, self-motivated, hard-working, willing to learn and have good customer care skills.
Successful candidates will be responsible for assisting residents with recycling their materials or disposing of their waste in an environmentally friendly and cost-effective manner; delivering a high quality service and leading on customers queries at the site.
The role will be based at Coalville, Lount and Shepshed Recycling and Household Waste Sites. Working pattern is of full time, 5 days per week including weekends (two days off midweek).
  • A good understanding of waste Health & Safety
  • Good communication skills and the ability to handle all customers in a polite and professional manner
  • A willingness to be flexible, learn and undertake a variety of different tasks
  • The ability to converse with ease with customers and provide advice and information in accurate spoken English is essential for the post
  • Ability to travel to locations across the County as required
