This position is Fixed term to 31st March 2020 and offered on a 0.5 FTE basis (18.5 hours)
The starting salary is £24657 (Level One) rising to £26470 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers).

The CAMHS Family Support Worker work with Children, Young People and Families referred into Targeted CAMHS Citywide who are experiencing mental health difficulties. This is an opportunity to deliver support at the early intervention end of the Behaviour, Emotional and Mental Health Pathway in Nottingham City. The role includes:
  • Focusing on early intervention work as part of the Single Point of Access (SPA) including:
  • Telephone assessments
  • Supported self-help guidance
  • Telephone consultations for professionals
  • Parent clinics
  • Support in developing resources for early intervention
  • Support in developing bespoke interventions as appropriate for CYP and families
  • Work collaboratively with CAMHS Universal Services, City SPA, other providers on the pathway and other practitioners within NCC and beyond
  • Signposting to other agencies and services
  • Support in developing meaningful participation at the early intervention end of the BEMH pathway
In addition to this there may be a requirement to complete one to one work with children, and all other tasks as outlined in the job description.
  • Knowledge of different theories, models and approaches to working with children and families and experience of applying these to practice.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding issues and experience of applying legislation and policy and procedure to practice, including the relevant assessment framework and integrated working.
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with children and adults.
  • Ability to conduct assessments and analyse findings to formulate action plans, and the ability to produce high quality written records and reports.
  • Experience of effectively using a range of preventative and early intervention theories and models when working with children & families to prevent the need for specialist services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of multi-agency & partnership working and the variety of services available to families.
