The starting salary is £32,878 (level 1) rising to £34,788 (level 2) on first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers).

The Role....
An exciting opportunity to join our Building Services dept, the Facilities Manager for Depots and Projects is responsible for coordinating all aspects of our Facilities Management operations service at Council depots, ensuring performance and value for money are maximised and contractual and business targets ar achieved in line with organisational policies, procedures and core values. The successful candidate will be the operational lead on building projects which support the Council's strategy. This is an operational management 'hands on' role, working with multiple stakeholders to ensure the FM delivery at our depots is effective, efficient and safe for all colleagues and users of the depots.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* To support Building Services management in translating the Property Buildings Strategy in to an operationally deliverable plan.
* To work with the FM team to coordinate 'moves and changes' across all buildings resulting from the Council's assets rationalisation and workspace strategy programme.
* To lead and prioritise all elements of project plans to ensure successful completion and operational delivery.
* To work with Heads of Service and Building Occupiers to ensure that corporate policies and procedures are adhered to, giving advice and guidance where necessary and to actively support and encourage colleagues to adopt new ways of working.
* To ensure that all Health and Safety requirements at the depots are understood and effectively managed.
* To monitor the performance of contractors/suppliers ensuring compliance with the contractual arangements in place and follow up on any deficiencies to ensure appropriate delivery.
* To work with other colleagues within Building Services, to ensure a joined up delivery for all property matters, and be an active member of the FM management team.
* To support the department's and Council's emergency planning, critical incident and service response, through participation in the Building Services response team.
* Membership of a proferssional body, NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent), or working towards this.
* Experience in managing a team in a facilities management environment, providing both internal and external customer service.
* Experience in managing operational projects.
* Experience in developing and managing service level agreements and KPIs.
* Experience in managing budgets and forecasting.
* Ability to communicate and influence at all levels and across departments in the organisation.
* Ability to stay calm under pressure, prioritise, coordinate and deliver outputs in a demanding working environment.
