The starting salary is £25,295 (Level One) rising to £26,999 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers).

You will need to demonstrate a proven ability and willingness to study and develop your skills and knowledge, to successfully complete the Regulatory Compliance Officer (RCO) apprenticeship, then Stage 1 of the Trading Standards vocational qualification.
  
You will join our forward thinking Trading Standards Service, which combines supporting businesses with investigating rogue trading activities, and utilises a range of problem solving enforcement tactics to protect our communities, particularly more vulnerable citizens.

The duration of the apprenticeship is 2 years, following which the post will convert to a Trading Standards Officer Level 2.
    
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
• Willingness and ability to undertake and successfully complete the Level 4 apprenticeship in Regulatory Compliance
• Willingness to undertake in-house training specific to the job role
• An understanding and awareness of Trading Standards law and practice
• Experience of working in a team environment, and be able to demonstrate being a flexible team player
• Having a high level of customer service skills, with the ability to deal with conflict tactfully and diplomatically
• Effective written communication skills, including IT skills,  in order to produce reports, letters and accurate detailed records
• Ability to pass and maintain Nottinghamshire Police Vetting check
