Due to the promotion of one of our Apprentice Teaching Assistants an opportunity has arisen in the Oakfield Team for an Apprentice Teaching Assistant. The job is working alongside teaching staff to support children with Social Emotional & Mental Health issues. This is working in the classroom supporting groups of children with SEMH and occasionally escorting them to and from school on the LA minibuses.
Oakfield Short Stay School is the pupil referral unit for Leicestershire, where children who have been or are at risk of being permanently excluded from primary school are taught in classes of 10 pupils.
You will need to be flexible, resourceful, ambitious, and reliable. You will be studying for a NVQ in Supporting Teaching & Learning through the Leicestershire Adult Learning Programme.
