Job Purpose:
To undertake high quality assessments and provide a good quality service to the families who are being assessed externally for Leicestershire. To then family find and offer placement support to Adopters and their families through to the making of the Adoption order.

• Formal Social Work qualification; BA/MA/DipSW/CSS/CQSW
• Registered with the HCPC
• Knowledge of relevant existing legislation and in depth knowledge of Adoption national Minimum standards, regulations and Guidance which relate to Adoption
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure
• Ability to work to strict timescales
• Ability to work in a professional way with families and other professionals
• Able to work as part of a team
• Can demonstrate a flexible approach and a persistence and resourcefulness to get things done
• Responsible for Initial Visits and to act as Engagement Worker for externally assessed applicants
• Able to use ICT systems to record casework
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• Ability to travel when necessary to locations throughout the County
• Ability to work outside normal office hours if required
• An understanding of, and commitment to equal opportunities, and the ability to apply this to all situations
• Must be able to perform all the duties and tasks of the job with reasonable adjustments, where appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of Equality Act 2010
