There has never been a more exciting time to join the high performing Planning Team at Leicestershire. We have just adopted our Local Plan, which will shape the delivery of minerals and waste development up to 2031 in a county which is one of the principal producers of minerals in the country. The delivery of these raw materials and waste infrastructure will be fundamental in achieving the County’s growth agenda; an ambition to deliver over £600 million of infrastructure to support thousands of new homes and millions of square metres of employment over the next 30 years.
The County Council currently has a vacancy for an Administrative Officer to provide efficient and effective administrative, clerical and finance support to the Planning Team. We are looking for someone who is organised, enthusiastic and a good communicator. In return, you would be joining a friendly team in a progressive authority that is passionate about its people and would invest in your development.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience of providing administrative support to a service or team
  • Experience of processing financial or statistical information
  • Experience of effectively working with a range of software packages, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of the purpose of the town and country planning process
  • Self-motivated with a keen interest in providing a high-quality service
  • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused when under pressure to maintain accuracy and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative as well as part of a team
