Are you seeking a challenge in your career? Do you want to be part of a new and exciting team? Nottingham City Council are looking to recruit a range of roles to work on a new Selective Licensing scheme to improve the private rented sector for over 31,000 properties in Nottingham. As the Secretary of State has now confirmed our proposals the number and types of roles available within the team is really broad.
As we have over 31,000 privately rented properties we now need a whole new team of enthusiastic and self-motivated officers to help deliver our highly ambitious aims. As well as professional environmental health and enforcement officers, the team will include administrative support, supervisors and team leader, as well as dedicated officers to deal with landlord engagement, ASB and tenancy issues and project work.
Nottingham is a dynamic and popular city which is in an area of high housing demand, with a high percentage of privately rented housesmany of which are not adequately maintained. We are determined to continue to improve the private rented sector in Nottingham, to reduce anti-social behaviour and drive up housing conditions. The Council has been successful in attracting rogue landlord funding on 2 occasions and already has an additional licensing scheme in place.
This post will provide advice and support to tenants who are being targeted by rogue and criminal landlords. Provide advice and support to landlords lawful and legitimate activities to tackle tenants causing or allowing unlawful, anti-social and criminal activity on their premises. To investigate complaints about illegal eviction and harassment and anti-social tenant behaviour.
We do things differently in Nottingham. We’re open to new ideas and keen to embrace new ways of thinking and doing.  We particularly welcome applicants from black, minority, ethnic communities and disabled people as they are currently under represented within our workforce.
There are other vacancies across the other housing teams which have the same job descriptions and person specifications, candidates may be offered positions within these teams Some posts may be required to undertake non police personnel vetting (NPPV) and / or DBS checks.
For an informal conversation about the role please contact David Hobbs on Tel: 0115 8761555 or Julie Liversidge on Tel: 0115 8762680.
We are committed to caring for our employees both inside and outside the workplace. We provide a competitive pension scheme, excellent training opportunities and a culture of diversity and equal opportunities for everyone.  Moreover, we have created a variety of options to help our employees achieve a healthy work life balance. This includes generous leave entitlements and a smoke free environment.
